Principles of Fibrinogen Fiber Assembly In Vitro

چکیده
Back Cover: The blood plasma protein fibrinogen can assemble into fibers in vitro based on different mechanisms. Self-assembly is either induced by denaturing buffers, non-denaturing buffers or substrate interactions. Understanding how these factors influence fibrillogenesis important for developing fibrinogen-based biomaterials with fibrous architecture future tissue engineering applications. This reported Stephani Stamboroski, Arundhati Joshi, Paul-Ludwig Michael Noeske, Susan Köppen, Dorothea Brüggemann article number 2000412.

Characterization of an in vitro model of elastic fiber assembly.
Elastic fibers consist of two morphologically distinct components: elastin and 10-nm fibrillin-containing microfibrils. During development, the microfibrils form bundles that appear to act as a scaffold for the deposition, orientation, and assembly of tropoelastin monomers into an insoluble elastic fiber. Although microfibrils can assemble independent of elastin, tropoelastin monomers do not as...

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

The assembly of nonadhesive fibrinogen matrices depends on the αC regions of the fibrinogen molecule.
Adsorption of fibrinogen on fibrin clots and other surfaces strongly reduces integrin-mediated adhesion of platelets and leukocytes with implications for the surface-mediated control of thrombus growth and blood compatibility of biomaterials. The underlying mechanism of this process is surface-induced aggregation of fibrinogen, resulting in the assembly of a nanoscale multilayered matrix. The m...
متن کاملEvolvable Assembly Systems Basic Principles
This paper addresses the underlying principles of Evolvable Assembly Systems. This paradigm was recently proposed as an answer to the requirements faced by assembly companies in the current world of business and technological change.i. The basis for this new approach lies in a muhi-disciplinary study of the needs and requirements, and shifts the technological focus from complex, flexible, multi...
